This Post is for who you must approach when you want a Tag!

New Update : Ask for tags in Request-A-Tag chat window....Hopefully if someone is watching they will give you a tag!

Only Admin  and pOwer tagged hubbers have rights to assign others tags.

You just need to see if they are online and private message them with your details:

Nickname: Dexo

Share Size: 175GB

And they will give your profile a quick swish with their magic fairy wand and your tag will change*(Conditions Apply)

3. Its a pain in the Tag!

A) What is a tag?

Tag is just a Precursor to your nick name.
It is a method of classifying and filtering hubbers based on a certain criteria like share size.

B) Why do i need a tag?

Everyone needs a tag!
Getting a tag is equivalent to getting more facilities to your Popeye Hub Account.
Better the tag better are the facilities.

C) What are the kinds of tags? and what facilities do they provide?
Following are the tags in ascending order of importance:


Red Zone

10 GB              UnReg             Min share to enter Hub (chatroom only for UnReg users)

Without the 10GB share you cannot enter the hub ...u already know that!


You get access to Shoutbox where you can troll to your hearts content :P
But there are no real facilities enabled in the red zone.


Shoutbox: It is a secondary chat window for UnReg(unregistered) and Reg users as they are not allowed on the Main chat.


Orange Zone


Orange Zone a.k.a the Bare Minimum

100  GB           Reg+               Enables access to Mainchat & Search
Finnaly the search button works once you are Reg+ tag.


Yellow Zone

Release Bot & Request Bot:
They are the  2 annoying tabs which pop up when you connect to the hub.
The job of the Release Bot/Request Bot is to inform people of new releases/request on the hub for various categories.
Putting entries into the bot for your daily share is not allowed for the  Red and Green Zone Users. 
This gets enabled at Yellow and Higher Levels.

Gagging:

1.	(tr) to stop up (a person's mouth), esp with a piece of cloth,etc,to prevent him or her from speaking or crying out.
2.	(tr) to suppress or censor (free expression, information, etc) But here on the hub, it just means that you can disable a person from chatting ...an equivalent mouth shutting experience! XD power of Gagging is available to VVIP and pOwer tag hubbers. the revsing power of UnGaGing is available to all Green Zone. pOwer tag hubbers have a additional facility ...they can assign/upgrade tags to other hubbers. 2. Stop Monkeying around and get Registered! :D

All right...So you know a little bit about DC++ and you want to get registered.

5 net/ Popeye Hub users can follow the below steps:

Step 1: Sharing is Caring
You must meet the minimum Sharing requirement. OR
Share as much as you can to get better facilities.
(As of now its 10GB just to get in and you will be given no tag at all)

Here is a list of share and tag relations with the share size as of today on Popeye Hub!

Recommended : Share at least 100GB  of Data to get Reg+ tag  to get bare minimum facilities to type in Main chat and enable file Search Option.

Shoutbox: It is a secondary chat window for UnReg(unregistered) and Reg users as they are not allowed on the Main chat.

Step 2: Registering!

Its very simple, if you do it correctly! So type exactly and correctly!

Type in the Main Chat Box

General Format:
+regme xxxxx

Example : 
+regme Dex123*

My password here is Dex123* . Password can be alpha-numeric and you can also use special characters.
I suggest you keep a password you can easily remember, at least 6-8 characters long and without spaces.

Alternate Method if the above did not work:

General Format:
!regme xxxxx

Example:(once again my password is Dex123* you can chose yours)
!regme Dex123*


If you get registered Successfully you will get a acknowledgement for the same from the Hub.

Note: For some people all dc++ flavors may not be able to register into the hub so i would once again recommend  you use Apex DC++(....and no i don't get paid for advertising Apex , its just that it works the best for a beginner)

Step 3: You are registered!
Mission Accomplished so don't forget to put some funky music on and jump around on your chair

1. DC++ for dummies!

If you are already know what DC++ is . You may skip this step.
Below is a dummy's Guide to DC++

The following will give you enough knowledge to get registered.

The Internet Service Provider recommends you use Apex DC++ as it is most compatible with the hub.

Before getting registered here are some things you need to know about DC++:

a) Tags: 
    Right Beside your nickname you have your designated tag.
    A tag is a used for classifying different kinds of hubbers.
    You can get a tag once you have registered with the hub.

b) Nickname:
     You can assign yourself any nickname.
     (You might want to leave out the special characters like dot, ~, @,$,%,&,*,? from your
     nickname as it may lead to you being banned from the hub after a few warnings).

c) Share & Share Size:
    The Share means the data you are sharing with the other hubbers.
    There are certain constrictions put in every hub for the minimum share size.
    for example: some hub may require you to share at least 10GB of Data just to enter the
    hub.

    The share size also determines what kind of tag you will get. But we will get into the
    details on how the two are related at a later stage.
